And, it promises to be a magical experience. We’ll be focusing on Mother Nature’s cure - the miraculous lymphatic system whose killer cells destroy bacteria and viruses to keep you healthy.

Most people take their lymphatic system for granted. But the lymphatic system plays a vital role in keeping your immune system in tiptop shape and removing harmful toxins from the tissues of the body. How does the lymphatic system keep you fit and healthy? Lymph is clear fluid which moves out from the bloodstream picking up infectious bac teria and cell debris and carrying them to the lymph organs and nodes where the killer white blood cells attack and destroy them.

And this is what happens when lymph drainage doesn’t work properly. Excess fluid builds up in the body. This stagnant fluid, overburdened with excess toxins and waste products, not only causes tissues to swell but also reduces the amount of oxygen available to the lymphatic system, interfering with wound healing and increasing the risk of infection.

Research has shown that a healthy lymphatic flow is one of the body’s primary defences against infection. But what’s really surprising is that lymph moves around based on how much you move around – it uses the contractions and stretching of your regular skeletal muscles.

The stretching postures and flexing movements of Yoga keep the fluid pumping through the body. Deep breathing and massage also promote increased lymph flow. The lymphatic system is challenged when your body or mind is stressed. The deep state of relaxation induced by meditation has a positive impact on the flow of your lymph.
